Installation of natural gas detector and valve

The installation of the system comes in three parts - the Natuaral Gas Detector, the Valve Controller and the Easy-fit Valve:

The Natural Gas Detector.
Natural gas is lighter than air. The detector should be located above and to one side of the appliance.

Do NOT fit in the following locations:
- Outside
- In a cupboard or confined space
- Next to a door, window or extractor fan
- Where damp or steam is likely to occur such as just above kettles or a domestic hob.

The detector requires a mains electrical power connection.

The Valve Controller
The valve controller should be sited between the detector and the valve. The valve comes pre-wired with a cable so the controller should be mounted closer to the controller than the cable length.

The controller requires a mains electrical power connection

The easy-fit valve
The easy-fit valve has a standard bayonet connection. Just connect the valve in line with the appliance. The valve connects to the controller via the pre-wired flying lead.

The valve can be fitted by a consumer to an existing cooker installation. Fitting to new appliances requires a Corgi approved installer.
