New easy-fit gas shut off valveAMOS Detection is proud to announce the launch of their easy-fit gas shut off valve that can be installed by any competent person*. These valves replace the traditional ones often used in applications to protect elderly, confused or infirm people from gas appliance misuse when living in the community. When the valve is combined with a natural gas detector it provides protection against gas appliance misuse, for example from pilot lights blowing out or people forgetting to light gas rings. Such protection enables people to be housed for longer in the community (often in their historical family home) rather than having to be taken into care. This normally gives them a better standard of living since they are usually happier in their own familiar surroundings. There also dramatic cost savings in not having to provide permanent accommodation. |
Previous valves required a Corgi registered fitter to install them, often incurring significant delays and cost. The new valve has a standard bayonet fitting meaning it can be quickly installed by any competent person such as an electrician*. Similarly, once it is no longer required in one location it can be easily and quickly moved to another place to protect another vulnerable person. The detector and valve can also be linked to remote monitoring stations to enable the alarm to be flagged to a monitoring authority. For more details see our product page. * provided the valve is fitted by a consumer to an existing cooker installation. Fitting to new appliances requires a Corgi approved installer. |
